Old Jewelry - Podcast 003: Oscar Mulero - 2008

Oscar Mulero - Podcast 003 from CS.

From now on we have three set balls. We completed a first triplet of aces in full order: Molina, Rozalén and Mulero. Three legs for an EBM banquet with very 80s plates. The Oscar Mulero is the most anticipated sets by a high percentage of web followers, if not the most.

You do not have to be a lynx either, Oscar Mulero is the most referenced Dj in the post of our forum every day. Hot topics: "Mulero and his hobby", "Oscar Mulero and that subject that put in the last Detroit Electronic Music Festival", "Oscar Mulero and his character", "Oscar Mulero and his affable character"  "Oscar Mulero and what does techno mean in Spain in its first twenty years of life", in short. As we like to give carnage to the beasts, we decided that nobody better to keep the attention (and the tension) of the collection than this Madrid Dj of class contrasted here and beyond the seas, one of the few nationals that can make headlong in A very good techno festival.
But as we also offer Sudokus and other unresolved mental pastimes, we ask Oscar Mulero something special to turn your head. And so to boat soon, there are bigger surprises among the tracklist, as the master of hard techno of this country select material from a label like Output: "Is that Colder has a bass line that I Remembers Joy Division a lot. I have also opted for the last thing that Gerhard Potuznik got on Patrick Pulsinger's label and that I have recovered from the double LP "Concorde" (1999), although it is from another era, it continues to sound very to the Best Cabaret Voltaire.

A very 80s which is my decade. I wanted to reflect the power of influence of that time in the music that is made now ?, "At home we stayed with the Belgian new beat of Force Dimension from the face B of his maxi "Tension" (1989). In order to fulfill our task, Oscar Mulero removes the monkey from the DJ to the selector: "It is that it is not mixed at all. The audio file I passed is called "Selections" to highlight the content of I believe that my skills to mix techno are already more than known and contrasted, it was to claim my musical criteria that comes from post-punk, EBM and "new wave".

Total that the claim has come out somewhat "dark" To the Batman of the techno patriotic: ¿"It has been very dark or what? It is that I miss this music a lot more, I miss the selection of the Dj now the three plates and the effects eat the criterion of which Is put behind the table. If you do not click helped by a great display of means you are nobody "?.

A mix that will leave those waiting for Downwards, Dynamic Tension or Counterbalance material to cool. There are no mixtures of those that take away the feeling: "Once the session is heard, people will ask themselves: what has happened to this guy? Although the truth is that to me that every time I worry less Is that for me it has become a vital necessity to take time to do different things. It is time to get involved in activities that do not have to do with what you give me to eat.

Electronic body music: (EBM) is a music genre that combines elements of post-industrial music and electropunk.[1] It first came to prominence in Belgium[1] and was considered a part of the European new wave movement. Original, or original-styled electronic body music is sometimes referred to as old-school EBM and should not be confused with aggrotech, dark electro or industrial music

Spain Techno Militia

The techno music is in a moment of spectacular form. Surviving fashions and influences, getting stronger day by day
.
Electronic music, techno in this case, has global reach. We all know the "Techno Detroit", "Birminghan Techno" and other names that have happened over the last decades.
To this day, and in our humble opinion, Spain is in a huge moment. Bringing world-class artists to the world stage
.
Both established artists (Oscar Mulero) and young people (Psyk, for example) ... promises with a promising future.

We all know the "warriors" who have been talking for a long time, Oscar Mulero, HD Sustance, Exium or Angel Molina for a small example. But the "army" of contemporary artists is very broad:

Psyk, Leiras, Oscar Mulero, Tadeo, Tensal, Jesus Riaño, Jose Pouj, Kike Pravda, Aiken, Hector Oaks, Groof ...

Spanish Techno Artist, list from www.clubbingspain.com

Spanish Techno Artist. list from www.residentadvisor.net

From The Midnight Clan Club we could make a compilation with the best works of all these artists.
But we believe it is a pleasure that corresponds to you.

Go ahead, discover the Spanish techno.

ENJOY!

We recently talked about PoleGroup's 5-year history and we wanted to do it again in relation to the current tour of Australia, South Korea and Japan. Granting this debut for "RA JApan":

RA Japan interview Oscar Mulero (Owner of "PoleGroup" Label)

Mon / 28 Nov 2016 / 8:09 PM

1.When you spent your savings as a youngster on The Cure’s “Standing on a Beach” could you ever have imagined you would be where you are today? It’s quite a journey …
I always thought that I would end up doing something related to music.., my dad was into playing drums in bands and also used to dj too for some years.., so in some how music was surrounding me since I was a kid, and in some how to perform were familiar to me as well..

2.What was it that made THE OMEN so successful? Obviously it was golden age for techno.
I think nobody were playing the music we were playing at that club in Madrid that time..,probably this was one of the reasons… I remember myself going to London and Amsterdam to buy records that nobody could have in that time in Madrid.., so it was all about that and the way of mixing those tracks what probably made the difference at that time.

3.Sonar 1996: how significant was that for your career? Tell us about playing that event.
Seriously…?? are you asking about an event that happen 20 years ago……????? what can I say…, it was nice to play Sonar for the first time, now what I remember the most is that it was for me the first time seeing Autechre playing, they were awesome as usual.

4.You’re obviously a very prolific artist: what drives you and where do you get that inspiration to keep producing original and innovative music?
Obviously got my musical inspiration and influences, but at the same time also all that happen around me every single day in my life affects in some how my way of producing and creating my music. Music is 100% related to your emotions, thats how it works for me.

5.You’ve played all over the world, how have you been received in Japan and what do you feel about the Japanese sensibilities towards techno/house? How do they differ from Spain/Europe?
I played Japan 6 years ago so I guess things probably have changed.., but my experience that time it was really good. Something that really got stacked in mi mind it was the fact of how good the crowd reacted to music that they were listening to for the first time.., this is completely the opposite to how it works with the Spanish crowd for example who like to listen most of the times to tracks that they can recognize.

6.What are you working on now?  Anything new in terms of style/direction?
I’m working on a new album, non dance oriented this time, so there are no tracks for the dancefloor, this time is going to be more for the listening, kind of IDM influenced as I’m into this long time ago. Working on the final mix down these days and I’m pretty happy about what I’m getting so looking forward to getting finished and start to work on the selection for the final track list of the record.

7.So you are playing at Mind Off (Wall&Wall) in Tokyo next. What are your thoughts about coming back to Tokyo and playing this event?

It’s good to be back and play in Tokyo again after some years, so my expectations about the Mind Off night at Wall & Wall are big. Don’t know much about the club but I’m sure its gonna be fun, as far as I can get good sound and good monitors in the booth I will enjoy playing and according to this the people who come to see me playing will enjoy my set too.

And as always, from "The Midnight Clan Club" we suggest you go through the "Bandcamp Label site" of the PoleGroup label and support the artists.

Nor do we want to stop sharing with all of you the last live set of great Oscar Mulero owner and lord of PoleGroup.
Set made for the friends of "Dommune Tokyo" on the occasion of his tour of Japanese lands ..

Enjoy!

Knowing the latest releases.

Knowing the latest releases.

It is difficult today, when record stores disappear every day and can not spend hours checking new releases. This vice that is so lacking in the digital age, our weekly visit (minimum) to our favorite record store.

Much is said about the increase in the sale of music on vinyl.
Make no mistake, these statistics speak of commercial music. Mass music, which you can buy in department stores.

But, finding what we really like is increasingly difficult ... "the latest release of our favorite underground label, this album still unreleased" ...
Our favorite record store no longer exists, its closed. The clerk to assist us with a smile and was glad to see us now dedicated to something else. It's time to evolve and look where listen to our music elsewhere. By other means.

Of course, that means none other than internet. The network of networks.
One way, of course, is to be aware of the web of our favorite label. And check their releases daily. Or, if they have it, and subscribe to your mailing sent directly to our emails.

And do the same with websites selling music specializing in our favorite style. If you serve as an example, I usually investigate:

Hard Wax Record Shop (Alemania): https://hardwax.com/
Clone: (Netherlands): https://clone.nl/
Decks Records: http://www.decks.de/shop
Juno Recors (England): http://www.juno.co.uk/

This is a good way to keep up. But you can only hear a sample. And I really like to hear the song in full. Manias of each.
So lately, as I do not get new releases me to my house, like the great djs. I had to find a way to do it. And something that gives me very good result is the unconsumable YouTube.

Search and subscribe to channels to share news. And fit with my musical tastes of the moment (underground techno in this case). I happened any case you want to take a look and see for yourselves.

And of course, the official channels of the labels (if any), for example:

So, once you have prepared your list of musical wihslist and you can make your purchase in your favorite website (or web record store).
Or, much better, if you know him and had directly on the Bandcamp artist. But that's another story…

Greetings and thanks for reading me.
